SIGMA ALPHA OMEGA® AT LONGWOOD UNIVERSITY
PHILANTHROPY
Sigma Alpha Omega's national philanthropy is Ovarian Cancer Awareness (OCA).
September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month, during which our sorority sets up events and fundraisers to help those affected by this disease and prevent future cases.

Our chapter has set up "Real Teal" bake sales, participated in the National Crunch-a-thon, and plans on continuing with our fundraising through this and other events.

Our chapter also participates in many local community and evangelical forms of philanthropic service!

In the past, we have worked alongside Operation Inasmuch, the local food bank, and local churches. We have spread light and love to the LU campus and Farmville community through efforts like picking up litter, making free baked goods for staff and faculty, paying for someone's meal unexpectedly at a restaurant, and handing our lollipops with Bible verses for fellow students on Valentine's Day.
